Grandma's Recipes for Toenail Fungus &
Painful Athlete's Foot

Vinegar Foot BathSoak the feet 20 minutes a day in a footbath with one part vinegar and two parts warm water. Adding Original Listerine to this footbath may also help and speed up the healing.
Vinegar and Listerine Foot Bath
Another recipes that has been getting a lot of attention for the speed of recovery time is; take a 16 ounce bottle of apple cider vinegar and a 16 ounce bottle of original Listerine and mix them in a tub big enough to soak your feet in, but make sure this tub has a lid that will put a tight seal on the mixture. Don't dilute this formula with water. Soak your feet 20 minutes everyday, this formula can be reused everyday as long as you keep it covered when not in use.
Take the time out of your day to do this soak before bathing or showering and you will see a huge difference in not only the fungus problems you're having but also in any dry skin, callous or corn problems you may be having.
A Little Dab will Do Ya!
Now if you're not a foot soaking type of person then you can still take one of these mixtures and soak a cotton ball or even a paper towel in the solution and dab it on the infected area. I can't promise it will work as fast but it's better than not trying to use these recipes at all simply because you don't like soaking or don't want to deal with the fuss of a footbath.
Most Important: Make sure you completely dry your feet between your toes and anywhere there is moisture. If you have to, wrap your feet in a towel for about 5 minutes to be sure you soaked up all the moisture. After all, ignoring the moisture in your feet is what got your feet into this mess!

Nutritional researchers are constantly discovering minerals, enzymes, amino acids, and other substances and essences the body needs for complete health. Exactly how the body uses trace elements remains a medical mystery. Nor has science identified the amount needed of most of them.
Doctors do know a tiny deficiency, a missing milli-micro-gram of an important element can result in sickness, premature aging, or damage to the mind. The best advice nutritional scientists can give is to eat a diet of assorted foods, making a broad spectrum of nutrients available to the body.

Vinegar Medicinal Uses

Whether you like to use apple vinegar, white vinegar or another form, this amazing liquid offers plenty of health benefits.

  1. Hair: Organic apple cider vinegar is good for making your hair shine, and it helps to fight dandruff, too. You want the organic version because most mass-produced apple cider vinegars have been overly processed, thus destroying many of the vitamins and such that add the helpful benefits.
  2. Warts: Warts are killed with salicylic acids, often found in over-the-counter wart removers. White vinegar contains acetic acid, which works much the same as salicylic acids. So, if you suffer from warts, dab on a healthy does of white vinegar. You might have to do this more than once.
  3. Blood pressure: Apple cider vinegar has a lot of potassium, which helps to thin the blood, thus also lowering your blood pressure. A drink or two of apple cider vinegar can help to control your blood pressure.
  4. Cholesterol:Apple cider vinegar also has lots of fiber, which helps to absorb cholesterol and fats in your body and expels them naturally as waste.
  5. Arthritis: Most cases of true arthritis are caused by acid crystals that build up in the joints. Mix some apple cider vinegar with honey, slightly warmed, and drink to help dissolve these crystals. Unfortunately this is not a cure, and the crystals will reform. But at least the vinegar and honey can help a little with the pain.
  6. Mouth troubles: Gargle some slightly warm water with apple cider vinegar to fight bacteria, infections and bad breath. Go about half and half on the water and vinegar. Also good for sore throats.
  7. Watching your weight: Red wine vinegar has no sodium, no fat, no cholesterol and best of all, no calories. Which makes it an ideal topping for salads, or even as a meat marinade or sandwich dressing substitute, for those of us who need to watch what we eat.
  8. Antioxidant: Balsamic vinegar is made from grapes, which means it contains many of the same compounds in wine and grape juice that help the body’s immune system to fight cell damage and heart disease, cancer and more.
  9. Sunburn: Stay out in the sun too long? Now your skin is red, dry and painful. Pour or dab on some vinegar to help ease the pain.
  10. Diabetes: Many who suffer from type 2 diabetes and are insulin resistant have reported using vinegar to increase their insulin sensitivity. Always make sure to check with your physician before trying this.

From Cooking to Medicine

Uses for vinegar, from household cleaning to medicinal.

I really do not believe that there is one thing this amazing product called vinegar can't do! It has hundreds if not thousands of uses and is not limited to cooking. There is not a room in anyones home that one could not find and use vinegar for.
The ancient Babylonians inscribed its virtues on stone tablets over 7000 years ago. Hippocrates, the father of modern medicine, used it to treat his patients in 400 B.C. Helen of Troy bathed in it as a way of relaxing. In the Middle Ages, during the Black Plague, bands of thieves doused their skin in vinegar to protect themselves from germs before robbing the dead and dying.
Here are some tips and ideas for using vinegar:
Buy a large bottle of the cheapest brand vinegar and use it lavishly. The brand name has the same benefits as the non-brand, both are good so go for the cheapest brand.
Shower heads or spigot aerators get clogged with mineral deposits. Boil for 15 minutes in a solution of white vinegar and water-one half cup of vinegar in a quart of water, or stronger if the problem is severe. (Don't boil plastic; just soak in hot water and vinegar.)
Run a solution of vinegar and water through your coffee make periodically, just as though you were brewing a pot of coffee; rinse by running clear water through it. Free of mineral deposits and coffee oils. your coffee maker will last longer, and your brew will taste better.
Do the same thing with the steam iron, using equal parts of water and vinegar? After steaming for a few minutes, allow iron to stand for an hour. Empty and rinse well with clear water. Remove burned-on spots from the sole of the iron by rubbing with a paste made of salt and heated vinegar.
Add a few drops of vinegar to the water when poaching eggs. It will help keep the white together, and you "ll never notice ant flavor.
Vinegar and water make the best window-washing solution-for really grungy windows, make the solution as strong as necessary. It also removes soap film from shower tile and glass shower doors.
Old decals will come off with gentle scraping, if you soak them well with vinegar first.
A cup of white vinegar in the laundry rinse cycle will help dissolve alkalines left from detergent. The clothes will be solf and sweet-smelling, too.
Boil vinegar and water in your tea kettle to remove sediment. Open bowls of vinegar to help absorb the odor of cigarette smoke in a room.
If you have sticky hands or smelly hands, wash your hands with a drop of vinegar, it will cut the grease and reduce the smell.
Rub full strength vinegar to a tooth which you have a toothache in as well as the surrounding gum. This relief is only temporary, but it works.
Quickly cool down a painful sunburn by gently applying full strength vinegar on your skin. Do this the minute you come in from the sun and stop the burn before it starts to hurt in the first place.

Apple Cider Vinegar

Apple Cider Vinegar Health Benefits

By Natural Health+
Natural health supplements don’t have to be exotic herbs such as ginseng and tea tree oil. Even the common apple cider vinegar can provide nourishment if consumed on a regular basis.

Here are some apple cider vinegar health benefits:

Arthritis. Joint stiffening as a result of acid crystal buildup can be treated with a solution of apple cider vinegar, honey and water. Drinking this solution multiple times a day can decrease joint pain by flushing out the acid crystals.

Potassium deficiency. As ample source of potassium, apple cider vinegar can fight the effects of allergies, tooth decay and callous development over certain parts of the skin.

Dandruff. This vinegar can restore a healthy pH balance on the scalp and thus reduce the occurrence of flaking. Mix equal amounts of vinegar and water, spray it on the scalp, then cover the region with a towel for fifteen minutes before rinsing it. Repeat this procedure once or twice a week.

Excess weight. Apple cider vinegar is believed to be a fat burner, and taking three teaspoons of it before a meal is a known diet strategy. It can also reduce appetites, making people feel full faster if mixed in with their food.

Diabetes. Apple cider vinegar has demonstrated its ability to reduce blood sugar levels. The acetic acid can decrease starch digestion after partaking of a meal.

Warts. The presence of acid in cider vinegar can create a caustic effect that will remove warts off the skin. Soak the wart in a solution of water and vinegar for twenty minutes or soak a piece of cotton in vinegar then affix it on the wart with a band aid and leave it overnight. Repeat this procedure until the wart disappears.

Acne. This substance can also flush acne-causing toxins in the skin by applying it externally or drinking it. Test the vinegar on a patch of skin to see if it causes an allergic reaction; if not, work a vinegar-water solution throughout the affected places. Be ready to moisturize after application should dry skin emerge.

Apple cider vinegar can also work wonders for pets, giving them a healthy coat while reducing the presence of fleas and flies. The presence of acid and other chemicals can deter these pests while cleaning the fur covering at the same time.
